We weren't sure how Halloween was going to work this year - being in Saudi Arabia - but apparently it is a pretty big deal and it turned out great!
Madeline decided she wanted to be a princess, so we got a cute little costume from Toys R Us. At the last minute we got together with some of our good friends here on camp and we took the kids trick-or-treating on our street. Later we heard that on busier streets around the elementary school there were over 1,000 trick-or-treators and it was a zoo! A lot of Saudi families will invite their family and friends into the camp to trick-or-treat. Who doesn't like free candy and being silly? I think what we did - staying on our nice quiet street - was perfect for our little 2-year-old's first time trick or treating. And, not including the mask incident at the beginning of the evening that scared the crap out of the kids, I think they had a really good time.
A friend of ours put together this little video of pictures from last night and I think it turned out wonderful and wanted to share it:

She looks so cute! Glad it was a fun time for her. Our kids had fun as well, but it was cold and had just rained, so we only did about 20 houses. But it was fine foe them.
