Ramble Ramble Ramble

This month is going by so fast and I somehow fell out of the blogging routine after we got sick.  We've been well for a couple weeks now and, even though it feels like nothing big has happened, there are little moments that I have most and hate that I didn't write them down.

The girls are so entertaining lately. Our life is truly full of joy (most of the time) and laughter.  I love watching Paul with the girls and seeing how much happiness they bring to his life.  I love the relationship I have with him too... and that, after almost 10 years of being married, our closeness and our bond is stronger than ever.

I've hosted a couple of lunches and playdates at the house. I'm getting better at it.  A friend of mine who is doing a huge service for this camp and organizing playgroups asked me to step up as a playgroup leader.  At first the thought of this irritated me, but after thinking about it ideas flooded my mind.  It's really not that hard to send out some emails and jot down some ideas.  The nice thing about being a leader is I get to determine the day, time, age range, and number of kids in the group, and if mothers agree they join me.  It's nice.

Yesterday was my first playgroup with this new group and I think it turned out nice.  A couple of the ladies were not able to attend for various and understandable reasons.  I just wanted to get together before the Eid holiday here in Saudi.  I think everyone had a good time, and I look forward to future gatherings.  I think this is going to be a great group!

Madeline is really enjoying school.  She comes home every day and tells me about her day and what she did.  She is making some new friends and talks about them on a regular basis as well.  My friend K and I worked out a carpooling system so Madeline gets a ride from her twice a week and I pick up her daughter twice a week.  So far it is working really well and the girls enjoy riding together.  I love listening to them talk and I love the questions they ask me.  This age in children is a precious age and every conversation should be remembered - all the more reason to keep up with this blog.

Madeline is having issues with allergies at night.  There is something upstairs that causes her to get congested and it's keeping her awake.  I am removing all stuffed animals from the room and making sure her sheets and blankets are washed in the hypoallergenic, no dye, no perfumed soaps.  I hope this helps.  Her allergies, combined with the occassional nightmares she has been having, are making some sleepless nights for us all.

Abigail is doing really well.  She is moving around like crazy - a crawling pro! And she pulls herself up on everything she can.  Just last night she started letting go of the couch and trying to balance without holding on.  I think she will be walking sooner than Madeline did (a week after she turned 1).  She seems determined,

Abigail gives people a high five and has been doing a half wave lately.  She is very social and friendly.  She gives these huge cheesy grins with her great big dimples and it just melts your heart.  She has beautiful, soft skin and has had little to no problems with rashes and is doing really well with eating.  She really loves beans and tofu!  I am so excited about this.... oh and peas.  She loves peas.

Paul is doing great.  He's kept up with exercising every morning and has made it part of his routine.  I admire him.  I need to get better because, even though a grace an exercise class here and there a few times a week, I seem to be getting bigger.  You know it's bad when your back jiggles as you run up the stairs.

We have a lot coming up soon.  Halloween is a big event here on camp and then on the evening of Halloween, we have a taxi scheduled to pick us up and take us to the Bahrain airport for our first trip to Thailand!  We are SO excited.  TO be truthful, I probably won't get t to the blog again until after we are back from the trip.
