Hi Helen.
What's the story, morning glory?
What's the word, humming bird?
Have you heard about Hugo and Kim?
Did they really get pinned?
Did she kiss him and cry?
Did he pin the pin on?
Or was he too shy?...
Going Steady for me.
That's the way it should go!
Goin' steady, goin' steady,
Goin' steady,
Steady for good
Goin' steady,
Goin' steady, Oh yeah!!!

I always think of that musical Bye Bye Birdie when I think of getting pinned. We did that musical in high school... good times.
But TODAY, my friends, I am getting my nursing pin. There is a special pinning ceremony for those of us who are graduating (SATURDAY! Yeehaw!). I went to the pinning ceremony they had last semester because my good friend Misty graduated then, so I know what to expect. It is a very nice little ceremony.
A nursing pin is a type of badge, usually made of metal such as gold or silver, which is worn by nurses to identify the nursing school from which they were graduated. They are traditionally presented to the newly–graduated nurses by the faculty at a pinning ceremony as a symbolic welcome into the profession.
Some of our family are flying in for the occassion. Paul's parents and his sister, Mary Ann, and brother-in-law Kevin are coming down for the weekend. Also, my mom will be here tomorrow night and then she will be sticking around for a whole week! I am so excited!!
