Some Things

We've been having problems with our wireless router the past couple weeks and haven't really had the time to fix it or replace the router. This means that the easy and quick access to the internet that we had with the laptop downstairs has been interrupted. If I want to get on the internet for anything I have to come upstairs.

Coming upstairs is a chore. Madeline hates it up here - unless she can play on the stairs, mess with and chew on wires, climb all over the elliptical, push buttons on the printer, or go through the garbage. She is ripping paper as I type this, and... eating it... one sec. Sometimes kitty will give me a break and let Madeline harass her while I do some stuff.

Sometimes, I find myself looking for things that it would be okay for her to destroy because she has no interest in her toys when we are up here.

The only real time I have to get anything done on the computer is when she is napping or after midnight when she is finally asleep. THAT time is when I want to exercise and shower and sleep and do a million other things. Sometimes thinking about it drives me mad. I imagine myself in a vicious whirlwind of "things to do" and I can't get to any of them. Then I stop and I realize... it's okay. What is my problem?

I am living that life I always dreamed of when I was younger. I have my sweet baby girl and she is active and fun and interested in her world. Every second she is getting bigger and changing. She is a challenge and she makes me think. I want her to be happy. I want her to know she matters to me and she is interesting and important.

So, the blog is neglected. So, I don't get to read the 400 other blogs I like to read, or see who has just let the world know they just burped the alphabet (on facebook). So maybe it takes me two weeks to do 4 loads of laundry. Maybe the router broke for a reason. Maybe some things are just more important.

Amen sistah! I love what you have to say on this entry. It's true. Some things are more important than the computer. And, family is it. You have a great family. Way to keep your perspective in check.
