Since we've arrived in Saudi Arabia Paul and Madeline both have experienced some unpleasant reactions to the environment around us. Finally after about 9 months, we got the vents in our home cleaned (twice) and, eventually, the entire A/C unit was replaced because it was old and dirty. I think it helped a lot for that to happen, but Paul and Madeline still continued to experience congestion, watery eyes, and coughing and sneezing - especially when we were upstairs.
About a month ago Paul decided to go get some allergy testing done at the clinic here on camp and the result was that he is basically allergic to everything around us (dust, mold, grasses, flowers, etc.) - Everything but the cat! I found it to be hilarious that he was not allergic to kitty because usually people are allergic pets an their dander. He IS allergic to Dog dander though... weird. Anyway, it's a good thing for Kitty.
So, with proof that Paul has allergies, we were able to get our carpet replaced with wood flooring. It was an interesting 4 days, frustrating, but I won't complain because it was all for free. This company accomodates you with anything you need and usually in a reasonable amount of time. We are truly lucky and blessed to be here.
I think it has really helped a lot with the allergy problem, and although we cannot completely eliminate every little tiny thing we are allergic to, at least life in our house will be a little more comfortable. And isn't that was your home should be?? *Smiles*
