Birthdays and Baby Preparation

Last week was a busy week! Paul had a birthday on Thursday. He turned 31. I got him a basketball hoop as his gift from me so he could have a fun form of exercise to participate in. He loves to "shoot hoops". Hopefully after the baby comes I will be able to shoot some hoops with him. We have a pretty nice sized driveway so it should be fun. I'll take some pictures of the hoop - maybe get some action photos of Paul - once we get it put together. It's a really nice hoop.

Every year Paul turns another year older, I try to do something special for him. I believe that no matter how old you become, you should ALWAYS have a birthday party with ridiculous hats and balloons and cake. So, every year I make Paul wear a hat of some form. This year just so he didn't feel too dopey, I had kitty join in the fun too. She had a great time. See!!

Here's Paul eating breakfast with his shiny gold birthday king hat on.

Here's kitty - she is a party animal!
Paul loves ice cream cake from Dairy Queen
so that's what we got him.
Aww, a family photo

This past week we also finally got our baby furniture - our crib and changing table - for Madeline. It only took about a week for it to come in, and then our awesome friends Misty and Michael drove down with us in their truck and helped us get it home (Thank you so much you guys!!).
Michael also helped Paul move our awkward beast of an elliptical up our steep stairs to the rec room, which was really scary to watch, AND helped move the crib and dresser boxes inside. Lots of lifting! I was just glad to know that I have access to some pretty great general surgeons in case hernia repair was in store.

Kitty had a great time playing with the gigantic boxes the crib came in.

This fake bird is about to be toast...

Here's the crib!! I love it so much! By the way, Michael, it only took Paul 1 hour 33 minutes to put the crib and changing table together. That INCLUDES the several times I bothered him to make him drink water, ask him questions, put a breath right strip on his nose (he was stuffy), and kill a couple spiders. Pretty good, eh?
