I've been having some really vivid dreams lately and wanted to share a particularly funny one. A good friend of mine, let's call her Erin, was in this dream.
Erin was giving me a tour of a mansion her and her husband had recently sold. It was gigantic, and beautiful, and very well lit. There were mirrors everywhere and every other door in the hallway had a well dressed guard standing in front of it. I asked her why there were guards in front of those particular doors and she said, "because the rooms are filled to the ceiling with money!"
She admitted to me that they had given it all up just so they could move to Saudi Arabia to live here in the compound and work for Aramco. I couldn't believe they had given all that up, but Erin was so passionate about her decision I didn't say a word.
Working for this company, especially in this dream, is a blessed and elaborate opportunity. Everyone around the world wants to live and work where we do - a reason why Erin and her family gave everything up to come here. It is like an exclusive club that only the the most elite of the species are privileged to be members of.
After the tour of the mansion, we were back on camp hanging out in the locker rooms at the gym. Each bathroom stall in the locker room was a room of it's own, with couches, showers, bathtubs, flowers, lotions, and chocolate scented soaps... not that this was needed. If you lived here, your poop smelled like roses or, vanilla in my case.
The ONLY rule on camp - a rule that, if broken, would mean the immediate firing of your husband and expulsion of your family from the camp - was to NEVER gun the drains in the bathroom.
Gunning the drains - the act of putting your hands together in the gun formation and pointing it at the drains in the bathroom while making peeyoo peeyoo peeyoo (shooting) sounds.
Erin and I? We were rebels. We loved daring each other to do things. We were the only ones in the locker room. So I, unfortunately and to our future dismay, dared her to gun the drains. Erin, never one to turn down a dare or a challenge, immediately put her hands together in the shape of a gun.
"Peeyoo! Peeyoo! Peeyoo-peeyoo!"
"Peeyoo! Peeyoo! Peeyoo-peeyoo!"
"This is so thrilling!" she yelled.
But then... her cell phone rang.
She answered it. Then dropped it.
It was her husband. He had just been fired from his job.
"Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!" She screamed.
"Why?!! Why Edith? Why did you dare me to gun the drains??"
"I'm so sorry Erin! I am SOOO sorry!" I said.
"Nooooooooooooooooooo!!! Ahh haa haaa haaaaaaaaaa" as she dropped to her knees in despair and agony.

What In The World?
I had a dream last night that there was a hole in my chin, and inside this hole was a million tiny little worms. It only opened when I smiled, so I was destined to never smiled again.
Can you say terrifying, disgusting and what in the world?????!!! Ewwww!

Learning In My Sleep.
Last night I had a dream...
that my blood pressure was 485/698 (precisely). A normal blood pressure reading is below 120/70. I knew, in the dream, that it was a miracle I was even walking and talking and that I needed to get to the hospital STAT so I could get a heart transplant. But I didn't want a heart transplant. In fact, I would rather die than get one (in the dream). Then I thought... well maybe if I just start exercising I can bring my blood pressure down and I'll be okay. So I started doing Tae Bo in my bedroom.
Then I woke up. Then I fell asleep again and had this dream...
Paul and I were swimming with Madeline. But we weren't in a swimming pool... we were INSIDE one of those water towers that each city has that has the city's name plastered on it. Except, this wasn't a normal water tower... it was like 800 feet tall, and Madeline, who was just sitting there floating in a little tube, fell out of her tube and began to sink in the water. I freaked out and grabbed her with my feet and brought her back up to the surface. In the dream I am so extremely angry that she didn't have a life vest on.
Lesson learned subconscious mind:
#1. I need to start working out again or my blood pressure will sky rocket and I will need heart surgery.
#2. Always put a life vest on your babies when you take them swimming in city water towers.

Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream
...I sailed away to China, on a little row boat to find ya, and you said you had to get your laundry clean..." Good song.
So last night I dreamt that my grandpa John came to me asking for some good gift ideas for 4 people he knew. I didn't have any ideas, but then I looked over this hill and saw a tour bus. I thought it'd be a good gift to get his friends a tour of this town we were next to.
I go running toward to bus, but then it takes off. The driver is looking straight into my eyes and STILL drives away. So I am very angry now. My grandpa and I decide to go on an adventure to this town. We grab our guns (because in this dream we both own a 32 caliber) and interfere with a play they are doing at the entrance to the town of an old western bank robbery.
It's the perfect cover for our shenanigans because the onlooking crowd thinks we are part of the gig.
My grandpa is now wearing a white plastic mask like the horror movie character Jason and a purple sweatsuit that says "cuddler" on the front - Madeline owns something similar in reality. She scares the hell out of me when she puts it on - just kiddin' it's the sweat suit not the mask, silly. I am wearing regular clothes and a surgical face mask.
So we go toward this cave area shooting our guns carelessly into the air and I say,
"Hey! Big John (That's what we call him), don't hit any people, okay?" he nods.
The men in the play realize we are not part of the gig when bullets begin to ricochet off the metal door leading to the cave to the town. They book it out of there. All of the sudden, the sherrif is in town and he and other policemen begin to shoot at us. We bolt into the cave toward the town.
The town is an underground place but it is beautiful, with blue skies and trees and lots of fun, happy people. They don't realize they are living underground in a cave.
There is a restaurant/bar area in the town that we decide to stop at to get something to eat and to discuss how we will get away from the police. I begin to worry that my mom might be wondering where I am - because all of the sudden in this dream I am a young teenage girl. I look at my cell phone in my back pocket, and I can see that she has called. I begin to think that if I do NOT call her, she will most likely alert the authorities and then they will figure out that we were the ones who interrupted the play in such a ruckus way. But then I think, what if they already KNOW we were the ones and they are at her house monitoring her phone to see where we are? But then I realize, they already know we are in this cave in the little town. So I call her.
We talk about the baby and the weather and then we say goodbye.
So my grandpa and I are at this restaurant and we choose a table in the back next to the piano player. There is a show going on in the place where this man is telling people in the audience if they are lieing or not. He comes up to me and he says,
"You are not a young teenager and HE is not your grandfather! You are lieing!!!"
So then we are like,
"Hmmm, 50% correct... not bad. SHHH!!! BE QUIET!!!!! Please help us. We need a place to stay."
Then piano player says,
"You can stay at my sister's place. Come with me"
So we follow him to this white house. It's an older house, like the cute little homes in Salt Lake City - similar to one my great grandparents used to live in, and there are Christmas lights on it. The door to the house is up some really steep steps though, and in the middle of the steps is a gate (what in the world??).
So I climb the steps and step over the gate and try to get in the house because we cannot enter until the Christmas lights are one. I finally get in and turn them on, but one of the strands is out. So me, my grandpa, and this piano player's sister, spend forever trying to get these Christmas lights to work so we can go inside, and it was cold so you can imagine how annoying that was.
Then I woke up.

That's Not A Popcorn Kernel!!!

I was sitting on the couch several days ago and I felt something on one of my molars. It felt like maybe I had a popcorn kernel stuck on it or something, only, I hadn't been eating popcorn. So, I took my tongue and gently nicked at it. It definitely WASN'T a popcorn kernel... it was a crack in my tooth and the corner of my tooth came off!!!
Why did my tooth crack?? I don't know... no calcium? chewing on a candy cane earlier?
I was in the process of nursing the Madster, so I kept my freaking down to a dull roar, but I fa-reaked!
Reason for freaking. I have had several dreams throughout my life where my teeth begin to crack and fall out of my mouth... now it was happening in reality!!!
So, now I have this hole in the side/top corner of my third molar on the right side of my mouth. It doesn't hurt (THANKFULLY) but the edge of it is REALLY sharp and it pokes the side of my tongue every time I drink, eat, talk, or breath. It's really irritating, and if I'm not careful, it will probably draw blood.
So I made an appointment with a dentist for Wednesday (that was the soonest they could get me in). It will most likely require a crown of some sort. We've got pretty good dental insurance through Paul's work though so I am not anticipating ridiculous charges, I hope.
While I was at it, I made a dental appointment for Paul too since we haven't been to a dentist in over 2 years (I know, we suck)!!! Moral of the story...
Don't chew hard stuff.

Take a calcium supplement every day (especially if you are pregnant or nursing cause the baby takes all your calcium).
Brush and floss daily - at least morning and night - and see a dentist regularly.

Dinner With Barack
Last night I had the funniest dream. I even woke up laughing a little. I was standing in this enormous kitchen with soon-to-be first lady Obama. She was cooking the most delicious looking turkey. Behind us, on another table was some already prepared foods... mashed potatoes, pies of all flavors, bread, beans, sweet potatoes with marshmallows on them, corn, ham.... it was a feast to behold. I was extremely excited to partake of the deliciousness, but it wasn't yet time to eat. Instead, I decided to leave the room and go see what my family was up to. There was a very long table decorated nicely with Christmas decor, and all the grand kids were sitting at the table talking and sipping on their mugs filled with cocoa and marshmallows. As I walked toward the table, Barack came walking up to me. I said,
"Barack my man, your wife is quite the cook. Dinner looks wonderful!! Thanks for the invite!"
"No problem!" he said.
"See ya later homie," I said, as we both put our hands up in the air bumped hips like so...

Why I say things like, "my man" and "homie" in my dreams escapes me... and yes, Barack and I both have round, voluptuous hineys.

At Least She'll Be A Good Listener
Pretty much every night now, I have a dream. This one's short and sweet. I had a dream that my little girl looked EXACTLY like her dad, but she had blue eyes and really red hair. She was outside playing and I grabbed her to look at her face. I thought... "wow, she is so cute!". Then I noticed her ears... all 10 of them. She had 6 on one side and 4 on the other.

Eeeeeek!
I had two of the most awful baby dreams last night. I will try to describe the horror in words... if I had time I'd draw you a picture so you could truly understand, but I should probably just leave that one alone.
Before I go into this, I don't watch scary movies. Ever. Paul and I decided a long time ago that scary movies were... well, stupid. They scare us! We dislike being scared and being made to feel on edge in that manner. Besides, who wants bad dreams? Not us!
Now I do see several surgeries a day. It has never really bothered me seeing all the things that I see because it is a job and most of these people who are having these surgeries may have no other choice and NEED this help, and I am there to help and protect them.
Okay. So the first dream was about stretchmarks. I have been reading in my Motherhood and Maternity nursing books lately because they have pictures and they tell you the facts - unlike someone other "what to expect" books that sugar coat stuff and leave out stuff - the details someone like me needs when it comes to me and my body. In my nursing books there are pictures of different big pregnant bellies with stretchmarks. Some are slight some are unbelievable!! I can understand that it might look THAT BAD though with how little some women are and how big some babies can be.
So in the dream I look down at my belly and I have some very light, almost undetectable stretchmarks. All the sudden, one of them starts to buldge out a little and pulsate. Then it turns red. It starts blowing up a little like a balloon. Then all the sudden my entire belly breaks out into this watermelon striped mess... except the stripes are not nice and green like a watermelon, they are rigid and dark brown and red and they almost look like coffee grounds.
THEN!!! I'm looking down at them and all the sudden I realize.... THESE ARE NO STRETCH MARKS!!! MY STOMACH IS CRACKING OPEN!!!!! Not only can I see all my intestines and guts - and from my job I know what these things look like - but as I peer into my stomach, I see a baby. Actually, it's a baby's face. The baby is bald, not fully grown yet, and it is looking up at me with this expression that looks as if to say,
"Hey, what are you looking at. What are you? Where am I? I'm not ready!!!"
Then I look over to my right... there is ANOTHER BABY!!! It has the same look on it's face.
So then I am freaking out, trying to hold my abdomen together so these babies don't die. All the sudden I am outside at the house I grew up at in Utah. I am wearing a button up shirt and some high heels, no pants, and I am bleeding as I run into my old house and into my old bedroom. There are clothes everywhere. I stand there in fear.
Then I wake up cause the cat was scratching at the door.
WHOA huh??!! I know! FA-REEEEEEAKYY!
So then I go back to sleep. This one is not as long, promise.
This time I am with my family. It's around Christmas and we decided to go to the mall. I have a 2 month old baby boy with me. He's really cute, but I keep misplacing him and finding him in weird places. Then all the sudden, I see Shawna and her entire family at some restaurant!! Even Grandma! I am so happy to see them I jump over the table we are at. The waiter lunges toward me as if to contain my excitement, but he can't. Shawna and her family are leaving. They don't see me. I yell at the waiter.
"Those are my friends!!! Move!!!!!!!!"
And he's like,
"Ma'am, you cannot behave this way. This is a fine establishment and you blah blah blah...."
I'm not listening.
So I run out the restaurant leaving my baby to catch them and I yell Shawna's name. She turns! I remember I have a baby in the restaurant and I need go get him. So I go back. Shawna comes to see me. We're talking and as I go to pick up my baby I see that he is now the size of a fat 13-year-old boy.
He's still 2 months old and he looks like a 2 month old baby would, but he is gigantic!! I cant lift him because it would be like picking up a 280lb man.
That was that one.
I have had other dreams that aren't as fresh in detail. So many I could write a book. Maybe I will. Of course, no one else really cares about the dreams I am having. I'd love to take these to a dream interpreter or something. I wonder if there is any meaning to these dreams.
I am not pregnant with twins by the way. There is definitely only one little lady in there.
