Madeline just realized that she can spit out her food once it's in her mouth if she doesn't like it. Up to this point she would just hold it IN her mouth and eventually swallow it while scowling and moaning fiercely.
I lose a tiny bit of power each day with this knowledge she keeps acquiring, and it stings.... it really stings.
