My sweet babe is sick. He's had a cold now for a few days. Isn't it amazing that such a tiny miniscule thing can cause such a ruckus in our bodies? We've been trying to keep him comfortable and take care of him when he's home. Hopefully we can kick it in the nub this weekend.Amazingly, Madeline and I have not contracted any illness. I think it's because I got a flu shot about a month ago and because I have been taking echinacea for the past couple of weeks due to another issue I am having. Of course, Madeline is protected cause she gets whatever I get through the milk, and I am standing nearby with Clorox wipes and antibacterial face and hand wipes... haha.
Paul's been falling asleep around 6:30 pm the past couple of nights - might as well, it gets dark outside so early now-a-days. I've been feeling like sleeping around then too... Madeline's schedule at night seems to be getting worse. Last night she was up at 10:30pm, 12:30 am, 2:30 am, 4:00 am, and 5:00 am. So far so good tonight though, of course it is only 10:00pm right now. Blast!! Why do I curse myself so?
We've been sooo tired around here lately. This afternoon I was sitting on the couch nursing Madeline and I fell asleep.
Picture this:
I'm sitting on the couch with my legs crossed over as if I were meditating... Madeline is in my arms, well I guess it was more of a flailed across my lap, asleep. The cat is curled up to my left and I have my left hand on her as if I am petting her... only, I'm not petting her. I'm sleeping. My head is hyperextended backwards, my mouth is wide open, I have a cat in one arm, a baby in another, and my boob is hanging out.
I woke up laughing. Then I did it again after Paul got home. Almost the exact same thing. Life is so hilarious!!!
Ya gotta get sleep when you can in this business of motherhood. As long as the doors are locked and the blinds are closed I'm good... I'm good.
