Madeline's reaction got me thinking... it DOES feel pretty good when someone gives me a compliment. Sometimes, it even makes my day! How often do I compliment other people for doing something well or for doing something kind for me or someone else?
There are a lot of people out there who work hard at what they do who might never get the recognition they deserve. If each person made a nice comment to someone else every day, the world would be a much more peaceful and happy place. So give someone an honest, genuine compliment! Make someone's day. Their happiness may just rub off and make your day too!

I agree totally! Getting compliments is TERRIFIC!! Wait til Madeline can TALK! Just the other day Julia said over dinner, "mom- this is delicious" I'm not going to lie- it felt like I had just won an Academy Award!
