Our Trip To New York

I haven't had a chance until now to post about our trip home to New York for Christmas. We've had a lot going on lately... friends doing cool things, work, babies demanding all of your attention, sleep, cleaning... you know.

This was Madeline's 2nd airplane adventure and, like before, she did awesome. We left on Christmas day, stopping in Charlotte, NC, for a layover. Unfortunately we were delayed there for a few hours and didn't make it into Albany until after 9:00 pm, but we DID make it, so that was a relief. I was a bit worried about travelling during the holidays, but it was really a good trip considering all that is going on in the country with the weather and weird airline rules and regulations. $2.00 for water people... $2.00.

Madeline did SO well that a man came over to us and told us what a good baby we had. He was "severely impressed" as he put it, with her behavior.

We arrived pretty late, but Paul's mom had still saved us some grub from the Christmas dinner - which was much appreciated and good... I had my own little cornish hen and Paul had some red meat. Have you ever had a cornish hen? It's this little iddy biddy mini chicken-like thing. It's so cute you almost don't want to eat it, but I did, and it was good.

This is the fam. We actually attempted to get a full family shot a couple times while we were there but there was always someone missing. So I have used my cunning skills and actually photoshopped one of the family members into the picture. Can you guess who?

I really like how Paul's family is (my fam in Utah is the same way). When we are in town, they make such an effort to be there to spend time with us. I always feel so important when we visit. Some would say,

"But Edith, isn't that what all families do??" , and I would say,

"No. It's not. It's not what all families do. It's what all families should do, but they don't" So, we are lucky to have such cool families.

Here Paul with his dad and brothers... the men... arr arr arr aruuugh?

These kind of pictures are so cool to me. Many years from now our children will look back on these photos... our children's children will look back at them. This is Paul's mom and dad with the grandkids.

This is a picture I love. It's Paul's mom with the grandkids... I like to call this one a picture of "the ladies".

Madeline's Daddy loves her...

and Madeline Looooooves her Daddy.

It was cold in NY. Snow on the ground. We tried to keep Madeline warm with these oversized gloves and hat. We had purchased a snowsuit for her to wear, but it was too big also. It's whatever. She stayed toasty. Basque in the cuteness folks... we're drownin' in it.

While in NY we also had a visit from our good friends Seth and Katie and their new little one, Clare May. Clare was born on September 6th - only 4 days before Madeline - so we had to get these girls together to meet. Hopefully they'll be good friends someday.

The Daddy's and thier little girls.

Madeline was a bit tipsy from an earlier breastmilk kegger...

I... think.... I... am going... to... explode...uuh... from the cute...ness... ahhhhh!! BOOM!!!

The visit was short, but it was sweet. We love spending time with our family and friends. We hope to plan a little better so we can spend more time with them next time we are able to get home.

Madeline's cousin Amanda thinks that she looks like she could live in Whoville. What do you think?
